The Role

This is a generalist HR role with responsibility for implementing HR policies and procedures across the organisation. All employees are based in Abu Dhabi and the organisation is government funded, so a the HR specialist will need to have a clear and up to date understanding of UAE labour law. It is a great opportunity to take ownership of an operational HR function and to improve the quality of the service offered to employees and management.

The role is varied and will include:

  • Developing and designing a proper HR function with processes and defined polices that meets employee and leadership needs
  • Recruitment of all levels of staff up to senior management
  • HR administration including payroll, leavers & starters, letters, health benefits, sick leave, business travel and performance management
  • Maintaining and updating job descriptions for all roles in the organisation
  • Defining KPIs for all roles within the organisation
  • Drive the annual performance appraisal system

The Person

The ideal candidate must be:

  • Arabic and English speaking
  • A strong generalist with previous experience in an operational and administrative HR role
  • Able to define and update HR polices based on UAE labour law
  • Confident and approachable, with strong attention to detail
  • Able to update and use Excel and HRIS systems effectively
  • Able to work with senior managers and government officials if needed.
  • Organised and hands-on
