I have been training hard for the last two weeks and concentrated on gym work to improve my speed and quick bursts of energy to tackle the warrior obstacles. The endurance piece has been easier as I have been out on my Tri Bike and managed to do over 210k this week. However, I did manage to come off my bike and damaged my wrist…school boy error! The Team are all focused but so far have not managed to get out to train together. Ali and Matt our two team leaders have organised a full calendar of workout sessions for the next four weeks including the Warrior Workout at the GMC Showroom on the 9th. Our Mackenzie Jones Team Dri Fit tops arrive next week so we will now start to look the part and feel like a proper team. We have had a number of donations to our charity (https://www.justgiving.com/mackenziejones/) from clients, candidates and friends (and even a few recruitment companies!) Please give generously as the Al Noor Training Centre is doing some wonderful work with the special needs kids in the UAE.
My goals for the next two weeks are to step up the gym work and try and do more lifting and weight reps along with some interval training on the bike. The four weeks are going to go quickly and I need to make sure that I am as fit as I can be for the event. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!
